This book should be read by those who take a serious interest in the 1888 Whitechapel mysteries. The research conducted by the authors, Jonathan and Christine, was extensive and it required much global travel time. The bibliography, index, and footnotes were thoroughly accurate. The research covered a diverse range of pertinent topics such as: The Druitt Papers held at the West Sussex Record Office, newspaper archives, asylum records, contemporary literature excerpts, and references from published works authored by leading contributors to the field of Ripperology.The photograph section was presented very well and it showcased a never before published photo of the Ripper suspect Montague Druitt. Cooperating with the authors were some highly respected personages in Ripperology. This cooperation has led to an excellent photo gallery in the book and to the revelation of an important 1889 news report that originated in France.Chapters 12 & 13 are a must-read for Ripperologists. New information is shared in these chapters. After reading its contents, fellow researchers in our field should get inspired to acquire further knowledge of that subject matter.If I had to select one aspect of the book that triumphed the furthest, I would say that its authors successfully showed that the family of the Ripper suspect Montague Druitt took Montague's confession to the crimes very seriously.
